5th Workshop on Speech in Noise: Intelligibility and Quality
Paseo de la Universidad
Speech is usually perceived in the presence of other sounds, in general addressed as noise. Numerous researchers aim to understand and improve speech perception in noisy listening conditions, for example by processing of the audio signals; a better understanding of human auditory processing or by investigating the relation between speech production and perception. Consequently "Speech in Noise" has become a multidisciplinary research topic addressed amongst others by linguists, acousticians, engineers, physicists, psychologists, neurologists and audiologists. These people meet yearly at theSpeech in Noise Workshop to discuss their most recent research findings. The next workshop in this series will take place in Vitoria, Spain on the 10th and 11th of January 2013. This issue will extend the series' tradition of presenting top-level research in a highly informal atmosphere for a low registration fee.
